Who This Policy Covers

Bloc Life is responsible for the personal information it collects for its own website, communications and fundraising. Using an outside service to process information does not remove that responsibility. Independent gyms, research institutions, payment services and other linked organizations have their own privacy practices.

Information You Provide

Our contact forms collect:

1. Your first and last name
2. Your email address
3. Your phone number, if you choose to give one
4. The topic you select
5. Your message

We use this information to respond, help with program or affiliate inquiries, and maintain the related correspondence. Authorized Bloc Life staff and service providers may access it. Providing a phone number for a response does not by itself enroll you in marketing texts.

Givebutter stores donor records and supports our email marketing, and will support SMS marketing once that program launches. Newsletter subscriptions collect an email address and subscription choices; SMS subscriptions also use a phone number and consent records. Donation services may provide us with donor names, contact information, gift amounts, frequency, transaction status, receipts and any message you choose to include.

Please do not send diagnoses, medical records, financial account details, government identification or other sensitive information through a general inquiry. A message about accommodations may reveal disability or health information; share only what is needed to request a conversation. Any later collection of detailed program or research information needs its own appropriate notice and process.

Website Delivery and Security

A website request reveals technical information to the systems delivering it, such as an IP address, browser information, requested address and request time. Cloudflare Pages hosts this website, and Cloudflare services deliver and protect it. Operational logs and abuse-prevention processing are separate from anonymous audience statistics.

Bloc Life does not export or keep its own copies of these request logs; Cloudflare processes them under its own policy. Cloudflare’s security services, including bot protection and the Turnstile check on our forms, analyze request and browser signals to tell people apart from automated traffic, and may set short-lived security cookies for that purpose. Website Analytics

We use Plausible to understand how the website is used and improve it. Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics 4 are not currently active.

Plausible counts page visits, form submissions, outbound-link clicks and file downloads. Its outbound-link report includes the full address of each clicked link, including any query string. It also reports referrals, campaign information, device and browser categories, and approximate location. Plausible does not receive the answers entered into our forms. It processes IP addresses and browser information to calculate daily visitor counts but says it does not store raw IP addresses or use cookies or persistent identifiers. Plausible runs independently of Cookie Preferences, including when you reject optional cookies. The Performance Cookies choice applies to Google Analytics 4 if Bloc Life enables it later; it does not control Plausible. Google Analytics 4 would remain off until you allow Performance Cookies. Cloudflare’s hosting and security processing is separate from Plausible’s audience reports.

We do not add names, email addresses, form answers, donation details or health information to Plausible events. A link’s destination may itself contain information in its address or query string; Plausible’s outbound-link report receives that address.

Contact Forms Through Basin

Basin processes our forms. It receives the fields you submit and the technical or spam-screening information needed to handle a request. With each submission, Basin also records the IP address, approximate location, and device and browser details of the computer that sent it. Basin uses this information to screen for spam and stores it with the submission. Each submission is delivered to a designated Bloc Life team member, and members of the Bloc Life team may review and respond to it.

NOVAGRADIENT, the agency that provides Bloc Life’s website development, support, marketing and communication services, administers the Basin account on Bloc Life’s behalf. That access is used to keep the forms and their delivery to Bloc Life working. NOVAGRADIENT does not read submissions except when needed to fix a delivery problem. It never sells form data and does not store or share it anywhere other than Bloc Life’s Basin account. Basin keeps each submission, including this technical information, for 10 years (3,650 days) and then deletes it automatically. You can ask us to delete yours sooner (see Privacy Requests and Your Rights). Basin explains the site operator’s responsibility for form data in its data-request guidance.

Email and SMS Marketing Through Givebutter

Bloc Life uses Givebutter for donor records and email marketing. Its donation checkout currently shows one contact choice covering both email and text messages, and that box may already be checked when you reach it. You can clear it before donating. Bloc Life does not currently send marketing texts; the checkout choice does not mean a text program has launched. Authorized staff can access supporter contact details, giving history and communication preferences there. Our marketing emails record whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, and we group supporters into lists by factors such as giving history and interests so that messages are relevant to them. Blocking images in your email app limits open tracking. A gift or an inquiry alone does not enroll you in marketing.

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option. For enrolled SMS programs, follow the opt-out instructions in the message, including STOP where supported, or contact Bloc Life to withdraw consent. You can also contact Bloc Life to request removal. We may retain a minimal suppression record to honor an opt-out and may still send non-marketing replies or donation receipts where appropriate. SMS consent records and mobile opt-in information are not to be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing; delivery providers may process them to operate the messaging service. This restriction also applies in the Givebutter account and in any exports.

Donations and Givebutter

Bloc Life uses Givebutter for donations and stores donor data there. At checkout, Givebutter and its payment providers process payment details. Bloc Life may receive donor and transaction records needed to acknowledge gifts, manage recurring contributions and meet accounting obligations; this is different from receiving full card numbers or security codes. The embedded form on Join the Collective loads with the page and is treated as strictly necessary to take gifts; the analytics and advertising tools it brings are listed under Cookies and Consent Choices.

Givebutter’s checkout may preselect one contact option for both email and text messages. Review it before donating and clear it if you do not want marketing contact. Bloc Life does not currently send marketing texts.

Review the checkout’s privacy, public donor-name, message and recurring-payment options before donating. Donation receipts may still be sent. An anonymous public display does not necessarily hide a donor’s identity from the organization or payment provider. See Givebutter’s Privacy Policy.

Search Maps and Embedded Video

Site search runs in your browser using a local content index. The gym finder uses locally hosted ZIP-code data to calculate approximate distances in your browser; it does not ask for GPS permission. Loading a ZIP-data file still creates a hosting request that can reveal the requested ZIP prefix in server logs.

The gym finder requests street-map tiles from OpenStreetMap when displaying locations. Its servers receive technical request information, including your IP address and the tiles requested. Selecting Google Maps or a gym’s contact link takes you to a separate service. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.

Our Network includes a YouTube video using its privacy-enhanced embed domain. The player loads only after you allow embedded video in the cookie banner or Cookie Preferences, or press play and accept its notice, and may then contact Google; privacy-enhanced mode is not a promise of zero data processing. Google’s own policies apply to that service. Read YouTube’s embed guidance and Google’s Privacy Policy. Photos and fonts in the site itself are hosted with the site.

Cookies and Consent Choices

A cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies, and a Cookie Preferences link in the footer lets you change that choice at any time. Bloc Life does not set advertising cookies itself, but the Givebutter donation form described below loads advertising and analytics tools of its own. Third-party media and later payment or security services can have their own storage and network behavior; a cookie-free analytics product does not make the entire website cookie-free.

Optional cookies, including Google Analytics, stay off until you accept them. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can withdraw consent later. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a choice to keep them off. Necessary delivery and security functions operate without optional consent.

The website uses these cookies and similar technologies:

1. Strictly necessary. Cloudflare security cookies such as __cf_bm and cf_clearance, set by bot protection and the Turnstile form check to tell people apart from automated traffic, typically lasting 30 minutes; and a record of your cookie choice, so the banner does not reappear on every page. The Givebutter donation form on Join the Collective is also treated as strictly necessary because it takes gifts: it loads Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) SDK, PostHog and payment providers such as Stripe and Braintree, which can set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, and Givebutter’s library keeps any campaign tags and advertising click IDs from the link you arrived by (such as utm_source, gclid or fbclid) in your browser’s local storage for 30 days to attribute donations.
2. Optional analytics. The Google Analytics cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by a property ID, which distinguish visitors and sessions and last up to two years.
3. No cookies. Plausible’s website measurement and OpenStreetMap map tiles. Plausible runs regardless of your optional-cookie choice.
4. Optional embedded video. The YouTube player on Our Network loads with the page only if you allow embedded video; otherwise it waits until you press play and accept its notice. Once loaded it may store data in your browser under Google’s policies.

Browser settings can also restrict or clear stored data, although this may affect how the site works.

Use and Disclosure of Information

We use information to:

1. Respond to inquiries
2. Arrange introductions you request, such as to an affiliate gym
3. Administer gifts and communications
4. Operate and protect the website
5. Measure how the website is used and performs
6. Meet legal and accounting duties

A request to connect with a gym may require sharing the contact details needed for that introduction; sensitive details should not be forwarded without an appropriate basis.

Bloc Life does not sell, rent or trade personal information, online or offline, and does not give supporter lists to other organizations, affiliate gyms or sponsors for their own marketing. Access is limited to authorized staff and the service providers who process information on our behalf, and to advisers or authorities where legally required or needed to protect rights and safety. We do not work with data brokers.

Bloc Life does not currently run targeted advertising. We may later advertise on platforms such as Meta, which can involve a website pixel or giving the platform contact details, usually in hashed form, so it can show our messages to existing supporters or to people with similar interests. Some state laws treat this as sharing or targeted advertising even though no money changes hands. Before we start, we will:

1. Update this policy
2. List the technologies in the cookie preferences
3. Give you a way to opt out

Health or disability information, contact-form messages and SMS consent records will not be used for advertising.

Reading research or athlete stories does not enroll you in a study or authorize publication of your own story. Research participation, testimonials and identifiable photos require separate permissions and notices. The site does not make automated decisions about program eligibility.

Retention Security and International Processing

Bloc Life keeps subscriber records and donation records until you ask us to delete them, and does not delete them on a fixed schedule, although a provider may occasionally remove data for technical reasons. Form submissions are the exception: Basin deletes each one automatically 10 years after it is sent, and we can delete yours sooner on request. When we delete information at your request, we may keep what we must for tax, accounting or legal purposes, such as donation records, along with a minimal record of your opt-out so that we do not contact you again.

Access controls, secure transmission and provider safeguards help protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Bloc Life operates in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States or in other countries where they operate, under their own published terms.

Privacy Requests and Your Rights

Contact Bloc Life at [email protected] or (712) 292-0215 to ask about information handling or request access, correction or deletion. Please identify the service involved without sending unnecessary sensitive details. We may need to verify your identity or authority before responding and may need to retain some records for legal reasons.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may also have the right to:

1. Receive a portable copy of your information
2. Restrict or object to processing
3. Withdraw consent
4. Opt out of certain uses
5. Appeal a decision on your request
6. Complain to a regulator

Exercising a right will not result in unlawful discrimination. Applicable exceptions and response periods depend on the request and law.

Bloc Life currently serves and fundraises only in the United States, and this website and its campaigns are not directed to people in the European Union or the United Kingdom. Visiting this website is not consent to every use of personal information.

Children and Policy Updates

This website and its online forms are not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact Bloc Life about youth participation rather than submitting a child’s sensitive information here. If you believe a child’s personal information was submitted improperly, contact us so it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed.

We update this notice when services or practices change, and give additional notice or obtain consent where required. This notice is effective as of Friday, September 25, 2026. Related website conditions appear in our Terms & Conditions.
